Gopher wire offers a humane and effective way to protect your garden from burrowing pests, making it an essential barrier for raised beds, in-ground plantings, and orchard installations. Unlike chicken or aviary wire, which can be chewed through over time, this heavy-duty mesh is specially designed to stop gophers from reaching plant roots while allowing for healthy soil drainage and aeration.

The wire features a 3/4\” hexagonal mesh made from 20-gauge steel for strength and durability. Each strand is electroplate galvanized before weaving, and the finished mesh is hot-dipped galvanized for superior rust resistanceensuring a life expectancy of 610 years in most soils. This double-galvanizing process makes it far more resilient against corrosion and wear than standard fencing materials.

For installation, lay the mesh flat under raised beds, wrap it around root balls when transplanting, or trench it vertically around garden borders to create an underground barrier. The roll measures 3 feet in width and 100 feet in length, providing ample coverage for multiple projects. Once installed, gopher wire is virtually maintenance-free, offering years of reliable protection without the use of toxic baits or traps.
