This Handcrafted Square Olive Wood Chess Set with One Large Drawer is the kind of thing that makes you want to clear your table just to show it offits got a quiet, earthy beauty that pulls you in. The olive wood comes from Tunisia, where the trees have been growing slow and steady under the Mediterranean sun, soaking up the salty air until the wood turns this warm, golden shade that feels alive. The square board has a rustic look, with edges that arent quite straight and little knots that remind me of the trees life, maybe standing in a grove where shepherds used to nap in the shade. Theres one large drawer underneathbig enough to hold all the pieces without a fuss. The pieces are carved by hand, a little rough around the edges, and theyve got this faint woody scent that hits you every time you pick one up. You can use this set on quiet evenings, the kind where you can hear the wind rustling outside, and the wood seems to catch the lamplight and make it glow. Its tough, tooolive wood can take a beating. A quick wipe with a damp cloth, and its ready for another game. Its sustainable, a little piece of nature that doesnt harm the planet.
